GOAL FOR THE TRACK:

  • To continue adding end article to tracks.

How did it feel,

  • W

List things the dog did well:

  1. Staying on track, not really trying to weave off path much.

  2. Working at a good speed. (At least it felt good to me?)

List things you’d like to improve:

  1. Rebuilding confidence with loud sounds that are 'bangs, booms, thumps'

(We had a very very scary incident where some strangers set off very large ear ringing fireworks on 12/28 just 20 yds from me and the dogs while on a potty break at a hotel traveling. Plus New Years Eve neighbors set off large fireworks beside our house in a tiny neughborhood too.......)

  2. My timing in rewarding her engagement with the article.

Goal for next track:

  • Continue adding distance.

  • Play article games in more public settings.

I love this! Her spine is so straight the leash is parallel to her spine for 99% of the track (and they are allowed to waver a little!). Let’s not do 3 tracks of identical length, but rather 60, 70, 80….and the next time 70, 80, 90, time after that 80, 90, 100. Once you get to 100 (so after 2 more training sessions), go back to 40, 50, 60 but increase the distance between food drops to ~2ft. She definitely is getting it, next class we will transfer her to a scuff walk pattern to further help her understanding.
